The whole game in four lines

  • Live as a wild bird — fly, hunt fish and rabbits in a wide valley.
  • Grow — chicks mature into adult birds; Plumes speed it up.
  • Build a nest, lay eggs, hatch chicks — the family stage of the loop.
  • Play with others — team up as families and roleplay the bird life together.

How to Join Broodwing

  2. Open the official pageUse the official Broodwing game page — that is the verified entry point.
  3. Press PlayYou join a server of up to 35 players. The game is free; nothing in the core loop requires Robux.

The Bird Life Cycle

Broodwing is structured around one repeating cycle — this is the spine of learning to play:

  1. BirdStart as your chosen species — currently the Duck or the Barn Owl (All Playable Birds).
  2. Flight and foodLearn to fly, then hunt fish and rabbits to feed yourself (Hunting: Fish and Bunnies).
  3. NestBuild a nest in a spot with food and water nearby (How to Build a Nest).
  4. EggsLay eggs in the finished nest (How to Lay Eggs).
  5. ChicksHatch the eggs and feed the chicks until they grow (Hatch Eggs and Raise Chicks).
  6. FamilyShare the work with other players as a bird family (Family Roleplay).

Growth from chick to adult is part of the official loop. The exact timers, hunger rules and stage counts are not published — treat any specific numbers you see elsewhere as unverified until the developers share them.

Playing Day to Day

A typical session mixes three activities:

  • Hunting runs — fly out, catch fish or rabbits, return. The How to Fly and the Bird Survival Game cover the mechanics.
  • Nest life — feeding chicks is the daily chore of the family stage; the routine is in Feed Chicks.
  • Roleplay — Broodwing markets itself as survival and roleplay: families coordinate hunts, raise broods together, and improvise bird-life stories.

Plumes and Progression

Plumes are the in-game currency, earned in-game and handed out through codes. Their three confirmed uses all push the life cycle along: speeding up growth, nest building, and feeding chicks. If you are wondering where your first Plumes should go — early on, growth acceleration and the nest give the most leverage, and codes are the cheapest source (Codes).

Optional spending exists alongside Plumes: five appearance-variant game passes (250–450 Robux) covering melanistic and leucistic versions of the Duck, Barn Owl and Bald Eagle. They are cosmetic options, not progression requirements.

Playing With Other People

Broodwing servers hold up to 35 players, and the family system is the game’s social core. Keep two things separate in your head:

  1. Roblox friend joins — the platform-level way to land in the same server as a friend.
  2. The in-game family system — the bird-family bonds inside Broodwing itself.

The difference, and the steps for each, are laid out in Join a Family.
